MoJo spent a wonderful few days in the Eternal City over Christmas where she was treated like a film star everywhere she went…adored by Romans, Americans, Australians, Finns and much more! The Inn at the Spanish Steps was excellent and breakfast on the roof top terrace with the sun shining down was bliss for MoJo as were her walks around the city to the Pantheon, the Colloseum and the stunning shops amidst the Christmas lights of Via Condotti.
Fine dining was had at the Parolaccia in Trastevere, Malafemmena near Piazza di Spagna and Il Giggetto in the old Jewish Quarter. MoJo was certainly treated like Audrey Hepburn in ‘The Roman Holiday’ but she didn’t find her Gregory Peck!
Oysters, tuna tartar, home-made ravioli with wild sea bass & sauce of clams & lobster, fresh tuna ….accompanied by full bodied Greco di Tufo and a delicious Passita from Pantelleria to finish ….MoJo highyly recommends Ristorante Per Bacco in Aulla, Lunigiana, Northern Tuscany……a real treat before she packs her bags to go to Rome for Christmas!
MoJo enjoyed a couple of wonderful days recently in Provence where she checked out a gorgeous new property for Merrion in this enchanting ‘village’ not far from Beaumes de Venise. Close to Les Dentelles and quintessentially ‘French’ in every way MoJo was fascinated although happy to get home to her beloved Italia!!!
September has been a glorious month in Tuscany although MoJo is now exhausted from a full season of meeting, greeting and entertaining guests at Casa Glyn.
Today, however, MoJo was in paradise when Sandro Nutini, professional massuer, treated her to an all over massage beneath the pool pergola at Casa Glyn!
Guests at Casa Glyn enjoyed a day of cooking with Simone Tomei – MoJo delighted in watching her guests conjure up all number of culniary delights from Zuppa Lucchese & melanzane marinate to Coniglio con polenta & spaghetti con le vongole….all accompanied by copious varieties of vino – personally chosen by MoJo who has recently been putting a lot of her energy into advising her owner into her choice of prosecco, vermentino and the odd Nero d’Avola!
MoJo seeking some shade and cool on the hot sunny days at Casa Glyn – the rest of the time she lay beneath the pergola of the pool and on a couple of occasions joined Merrion at luxurious Eco del Mare down on the Ligurian coast!
MoJo enjoyed a blissful day at Eco del Mare near Lerici on the Ligurian coast. With the whole of Italy bathed in sunshine and clear blue skies MoJo decided it was time to make a trip to the seaside. Not keen on getting her paws wet, she preferred to relax in the shade and watch visitors dip in the sea before enjoying delicious seafood and chilled rosato vino!
